Hey! My name’s Elin but my friends call me El (which I love!) I’m twenty-one years old and fluent in both Welsh and English.
After studying fashion promotion at USW in Cardiff, I found my new-found love for Visual Merchandising (window displays) after gaining work experience with NEXT working at the head office and in-stores. I loved it so much I even wrote a whole dissertation on Visual Merchandising! I’m currently living in West Wales with my family and the beautiful sceneries the countryside have to offer.
Family, friends, music, pink gin and food are most certainly the important things in my life to keep me happy.
As a child, I once opened my own fashion store in my bedroom at my grandparent’s house. I had a keen interest in fashion from a young age – this actually inspired me to create my own brand for my final major project during my third year at uni! I used the brand to raise awareness of heart disease, my brand is called Calart Clothing – a combination of Calon (Welsh for heart) and Heart.
I hosted a launch event for the brand and through that I managed to raise £150 for Above and Beyond Charity for Bristol City centre hospitals.
Love and kindness is the key to life. Start with yourself. Be kind to yourself and love yourself for who you are. Then treat others how you would like to be treated. With the ups and downs of life, you never know what someone has been dealing with so always be kind.
And finally, being happy is so important. If I’m not, I figure out why and fix it. That’s usually through laughter. Ever watched Absolutely Fabulous?
